Shipments tendered directly to an airline for EXPORT:
Documents Required for Shipments for Export Drop-Off:
- Proof of Identity – Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s Licence)
- Proof of Authority – Company Issued ID or Truck Bill of Lading authorizing you to drop off shipment on shipper’s behalf
- Air Waybill
- Duly completed and signed Cargo Security Form (Only required for secure shipments. Unsecure shipments will be subject to screening as per Transport Canada regulations.)
Accompanying documents required for shipments for export:
- Dangerous goods: Dangerous Goods Declaration
- Live animals: Vaccination Document, Veterinary Health Certificate, Animal Passport, CITES Certificate (for specific animals only)
- Human remains: Certificate of Death or Cremation
- Food/Pharmaceuticals: PHYTO Certificate / Veterinary Health Certificate / Export Permit (if required)

Shipments picked-up directly from an airline (IMPORTS)
Documents required for collecting a shipment:
- AWB (Air Waybill) number or a copy of the AWB (Air Waybill)
- Personal Effects:
- Government issued photo ID
- Letter of Authorization if you’re not the consignee listed on the AWB (Air Waybill)
Prior to shipment being released:
- A proof of customs release must be presented
- Terminal Fees & Navcan Charges and/or any applicable storage fees must be paid prior to shipment being collected
Proof of Customs Clearance
All shipments proceeding from another country (including the United States), must be released by the local customs authority, CBSA – Canada Border Services Agency, before they can be released from YYC Freight Service’s warehouse. The release of the shipment is confirmed by the customs authority by stamping the original Cargo Control Document (Air Waybill/AWB).
Please note that stamped payment receipts or any other document which do not bear the Cargo Control Number will not be accepted as a Proof of Customs Clearance.
